League rules

Please read and make yourself familiar with the league Rules and ensure that your Club observes and follows them.

Correspondence to the League

General Correspondence should be sent to the League secretary. However any protests to the League Management Committee must be matched with a £25 deposit cheque, made payable to the Southern Amateur Football League and the complaint and the deposit must be sent within 7 days of any match/incident occurring to the Honorary Secretary. If you wish to send the actual complaint by e-mail to the Honorary Secretary this is totally acceptable. however the cheque to cover such a complaint must also be sent and received within the stated timescales.

Finance (subscriptions, fines, donations. etc.) to be sent direct to the Treasurer without delay. Please make a point of answering all correspondence promptly and where possible, by return of post.

Fixtures, match results, postponements, dates of rearranged games and reasons for short teams to the Match Secretary.

All matters relating to Referees to the Referees Secretary for respective Section.

Results service

All League results must be reported to the League in the manner defined by the League Results Secretary.

1st Team results – Saturday only

All Saturday 1st Team results must either be text or telephoned to John Doe on mobile number 07764 585546 by the home club on each Saturday by 5.30pm.

Publicity

Club Secretaries should endeavour to arrange that a Press Secretary or other person presents their report to the local press for publication.

Conduct

Club Secretaries through their Committee and general publicity should impress upon all Club members the standard of conduct required by the League and by the A.F.A. Quite apart from the severe penalties for misconduct, the Club's name and the League reputation suffers from misconduct on the field. Club Secretaries shall also ensure that all cases of misconduct, either on or off the field, are reported to the A.F.A. within three days of the match. This applies particularly to Club appointed Referees.
