Andy followed in his father's footsteps by joining Crouch End Vampires as a player in 1993, and the committee two years later. He has since occupied almost all roles for the club, and also served on the committee of East Barnet Old Grammarians from 2002-2010.
He created the League's first website in 2001 and was invited to join the Management Committee. In the intervening years he has filled the roles of Cup Secretary, Registration Officer and Development Committee Chair while also becoming an AFA Councillor and serving on the committee of the Old Boys Cup.
He now runs the websites of the SAL, Arthurian League, Amateur Football Combination, Old Boys Cup and Crouch End Vampires websites and previously ran the website for the Barnet Sunday League. He also editing the annual SAL Standard magazine which is printed for the League Dinner. He is currently the Secretary of the Development and Communications Committee.
Neil is a one club man having joined West Wickham FC in 1972 as a 12 year old playing in the Junior Section, progressed through to Wickham Senior Football by 1975 playing for the 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd teams and, ultimately, 1st team.
He was part of the very successful West Wickham FC during the halcyon days of the late 70’s to mid 80’s, winning the SAL title six times including a run of five in a row in the late 1980s. He captained the 1st team for many seasons and won representative honours with both the SAL and AFA, captaining both sides on many occasions.
In 1985 Neil toured the USA with the SAL representative team which won 11 out of 12 games. He moved into player management in the late 1990s initially for WWFC reserves and then as player manager of the 1st XI, gaining promotion back to Senior 1 after several seasons in the Second Division during the early 199’s.
He gained Level 2 coaching qualifications and began coaching WWFC junior teams, starting with U7, taking them through to U16s with three of the team gaining AFA U16 and U18 representative honours along the way.
In 2020 Neil became chairman of West Wickham F.C.

He hung up his gloves in 2014, swapping them for a whistle when he qualified to referee in the SAL. He joined the League Management Committee in 2017, taking over the role of Results Secretary.
