John Payne

​John Payne, a  former President of Lloyds Bank Football Club sadly died over the weekend of 21/22 September, four weeks before his 90th birthday. We are advised that he died peacefully in his sleep, and we have been asked to let his football friends and colleagues of his passing.  Please therefore feel free to forward this email on to anyone you think might have known him.

John was a gifted player who played for many years for Lloyds Bank first team and captained them during a golden era for the club.  He went on to become the Club President.  He was always very supportive of the club and interested on how things were going, and he made every effort to attend the clubs dinners and speak to all of the players whatever their standard, and was a real talisman for the club.  

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
